Is Serbia a safe country to visit?
Yes, Serbia is as safe as any country in Western Europe.
Do I need a visa to come to Serbia?
No, all EC citizens are allowed to stay in Serbia for up to 90 days.
What currency do I need to bring?
GB Pounds are accepted in banks and exchange offices.( better to bring new-ish ones that aren’t damaged)
Are credit cards accepted in shops and restaurants?
In most shops and restaurants they are accepted.
Can I buy Scotch? ( question from father-in-law)
Yes, there are modern supermarkets with a wide range of goods. There is also a vegetable market in the centre of town, selling locally grown products.
Do many people speak English?
Yes, you will always find people who are willing to help you and who understand and speak some English. However,we would be more than happy to help you if you have any difficulties.( shopping, banks etc)
What is the climate like?
In comparison to the UK, the winters are much colder with lots of snow. From March, spring kicks off,the temperature is often 18°C-22°C during March, April, May and June (ideal for walking). The summer months, July and August are very hot, it can reach 40°C. September is often a pleasant month( also good for walking) with the temperature cooling down to around 20°C. October can be more tricky but in the last 2 years, we’ve had lovely weather with plenty of sunshine. |
